Our Stone Polishing Team Gave This Granite Elevator in Mount Pleasant Its Shine Back
September 11, 2022A building owner was looking to have his building's elevator revamped. He'd noticed a while back that the elevator's granite floor was not in good condition. He went on and searched for a hard surface restoration company as soon as he had the time. Sir Grout Charleston was there to provide a solution.
The owner discovered us after conducting a short internet search. He went online and searched for stone polishing experts in Mount Pleasant, NC, and the top results lead him to our website. He filled out the "Request a Quote" form and asked for a free assessment after thoroughly exploring our before and after picture gallery and reading the great feedback we receive from our satisfied customers.
We arrived at the building a few days later after receiving his request to conduct the in-site consultation. When we saw the elevator's floor, we noticed the issues right away. The stone floor was worn and dingy. Liquid spills and lots of foot traffic were most likely to blame for the state of the floor. The floor was unsealed, as we discovered when we looked closer. To avoid further damage, we advised the owner to have the surface completely sealed.
The inspection provided us with the information we needed to offer a solution. We had determined that normal cleaning would not be helpful and Sir Grout's high-end equipment and skilled methodology for a successful restoration were needed. We recommended a stone polishing multi-step procedure to fix any flaws and restore the granite floor's luster. Because the offer fulfilled the owner's expectations, we were hired and a date for the service was established.
We were ready to start the restoration when we returned. Our procedure follows a set of steps in order to attain the best results. First, we masked and protected the surrounding areas as needed. Then we used our stone-safe cleaner and a high-speed scrubber to clean the surface. We deep cleaned the surface and applied a solution to then machine polish the surface in order to enhance the shine of the stone. To finish the procedure, we wiped, cleaned and dried the surface. Finally, a stone sealant was applied and the excess sealant was wiped off before finally buffing the surface as the last touch-up.
We called our client and showed him the results after we finished the stone polishing multi-step procedure. The owner was impressed with the brilliance of the surface. He was so amazed with our job that he told us it was beyond all of his expectations, and before we departed, he thanked us and promised to call Sir Grout Charleston back for maintenance.
Granite flooring is a terrific choice for any type of commercial surface since it's stylish, beautiful, and long-lasting. Yet, it's vulnerable to deterioration and requires special attention. It's critical to follow our guidelines in order to preserve stone surfaces in good shape. We recommended establishing a weekly cleaning program to prevent degeneration. Use only pH-neutral, soap-free cleaners like Sir Grout's Natural Hard Surface Cleaner.
Our product is non-staining and provides outstanding results. It's also non-toxic and safe for use. Soap-based cleaners and products with acidic qualities are not recommended. These products contain chemicals and abrasive substances that can affect the stone, resulting in dull patches, etching, and other signs of deterioration. It's critical to keep the area dry. Abrasive tools should never be used since they can produce scratches.
